The Diabetes Awareness Campaign during Ramadan was held before the holy month and aimed primarily to educate diabetes patients on how to safely manage their health while fasting. The campaign sought to raise awareness about the importance of monitoring blood sugar levels, following a healthy diet, adjusting medications appropriately for fasting, and recognizing warning signs of low or high blood sugar during fasting.

The campaign was held at Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital – Jeddah, with the participation of several departments, including Health Education, Marketing, Endocrinology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Nursing, and Nutrition. The event was attended by 521 community members and achieved outstanding results in the post-awareness survey, with a satisfaction rate of 99%.

One of the highlights of the campaign was an in-person lecture delivered by Professor Abdulrahman Al-Sheikh, attended by many diabetes patients and their families. During the lecture, participants had the opportunity to consult directly with the professor regarding their health and fasting-related concerns. The lecture was held in an evening session in one of the hospital halls and was attended by more than 60 people, reflecting strong community engagement and interest in learning how to manage diabetes safely during Ramadan.
