Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer among women both globally and locally, making awareness and education essential for public health. During the month of October, the internationally recognized month for breast cancer awareness, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Faqeh Hospital carried out a series of awareness campaigns under the slogan “Bloom with Hope.” These campaigns aimed to promote health education about breast cancer, highlight the importance of early detection, and introduce the latest diagnostic and treatment methods available.
As part of the campaign, an electronic questionnaire was introduced to assess risk factors and the likelihood of developing breast cancer. The health educator completes the form with the patient, and once all questions are answered, the result is immediately sent via SMS to the registered mobile number. This allows the patient to present the assessment directly to the physician during the visit, helping guide any necessary medical follow-up.
The 2025 awareness activities also included in-hospital awareness days, featuring educational stations, workshops on breast self-examination, and lectures delivered by specialized physicians to explain prevention methods and the importance of regular screening. Additionally, informational brochures and motivational giveaways were distributed. The health education teams engaged directly with visitors, answered their questions, and provided guidance on adopting healthy lifestyle habits that can help reduce the risk of breast cancer.
