Lasik is a surgical procedure for correcting refractive defects (myopia, longitude, or deviation) by means of an excimer laser by abrasion of the cornea after all the necessary tests to determine the possibility of operation.
Post-operative instructions
- It is best to go to the house immediately and take a rest and we advise to sleep for a few hours after placing droplets described by your doctor.
- It is normal to feel a little burning in the eye, tear and inability to open the eye for a long time in the rst six hours after surgery.
- Avoid watching TV or using the computer and don’t drive the car on the rst day of the operation until the doctor allows you.
- It is absolutely forbidden to rub the eye.
- The eye should be protected from ultraviolet light for the rst week after the operation using sunglasses and can be worn at night to avoid dust.
- When you wake up from sleep, if you notice the presence of drowsiness and secretions from the eye, you can wipe the eye with a clean cotton wet with water.
- Do not rub your eye and do not try to remove the secretions with your hand.
- There may be some natural redness after the operation in the conjunctiva and do not worry as it will disappear after 3-4 weeks at most. This redness does not a ect the success of the operation and no harm to the eye at all.
- Avoid going to places where there is sand or dust and do not go swim or do exercise at the rst week.

Come to the emergency in case of
- Sudden pain in the eye with blurred vision.
- A severe redness of the eye with decreased vision.
- Presence of secretions, tears and high sensitivity to light.
Follow up with the ophthalmology clinic in case of
- Decreased visual acuity.
- Pain at operation site.
Follow up with the ophthalmology clinic within 72 hours after the operation or within (……………………) according to doctor's instructions
