  • Avoid sugar and sweets especially sugary and fatty at the same time sweets like: arabic sweets (such as pastry, baklava, Basbousa, ..ect) cake, doughnuts…
  • You must eat foods rich in fiber (such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains). Heart Health Mixture = 3/1 ground flax, 3/1 oat bran, 3/1 psyllium. Use 2tbsp each day added to your food. It mixes well with yogurt, hot cereal and salad dressing.
  • Eat fish and cod liver oil because they contain (omega 3) which contribute to reducing the level of cholesterol. Also Nuts and seeds contain Omega 3.
  • Cooking methods must be either boiling or cooking barbecue or in the oven or steamed and avoid deep-frying.
  • Avoid and replace vegetable fat as it causes inflammations in the body (canola oil ‘genetically modified’, sunflower oil and corn oil) with grass fed animal fats, such as ghee, butter, coconut oil because they contain saturated fat which recent studies found it is good for health, Also, extra virgin Olive oil is good for health.
  • You can use the good fat in moderation and use spices to enhance the flavor such as garlic, vinegar and lemon.
  • Stay away from hydrogenated fats found in oil and margarines, for example, fried foods.
  • Reduce salt intake and avoid adding excessive amounts of it while eating.
  • Do some exercise of 4 - 3 times a week, about half an hour a day as they work to balance the heart and regulate the pressure and stimulate blood circulation within the body.
  • Avoid stress and smoking and stay away from smokers.
