It is the deviation of the eye from the correct direction, and the goal of the surgery is to adjust the position of the eye and its consistency together.

After procedure
  1. Immediately after the operation, it is normal to feel dizzy and unfocused, the symptoms will gradually improve.
  2. It is normal to vomit within 24 hours after the surgery due to the effect of the anesthesia, but if it continues for more than 24 hours, you must inform the doctor or go to the emergency department.
  3. Avoid heavy sports or strong activities for two weeks after the surgery.
  4. Avoid submerging your head completely in water for two weeks after the surgery.
  5. Avoid swimming for three weeks.
  6. It is possible to take a shower and use baby shampoo while avoiding soap and water entering your eyes directly.
  7. You have to use eye treatments or drops if they are prescribed to you (as instructed by a specialist).
  8. If the drops are given to children, they can be used during sleep.
  9. The stitches used in the surgery will spontaneously dissolve.
  10. It is normal to notice some blood coming out with tears and the appearance of redness in the corners of your eyes (It may last up to 4 weeks after surgery).
  11. It is normal to have double vision that may persist for two to three weeks after surgery.
  12. If you wear eyeglasses before undergoing this surgery, you must talk with your doctor to find out if it is necessary to wear it after the surgery.
  13. It is normal to feel slight burning and irritation.
  14. The eye which went through surgery will be covered.
  15. Avoid rubbing or scratching the eyes.
  16. You will be given medicines before your discharge from the hospital with an explanation of how to use it.
You must visit the ophthalmology clinic or go to the emergency department in case of
  • Increasing pain severity.
  • Increased swelling and presence of discharges or pus from the eye.
  • Red lumps coming out of the eye.
  • Increasing in temperature to 38.5 °C or higher.
Follow up

Before your discharge, an appointment will be made at the ophthalmology clinic within one week
